About Dean's Welding

Dean’s Certified Welding, Inc. has been in business since 1973. We have over 40 years in the pipeline industry. Throughout the 40 plus years that Dean’s has been in business, we have gained profound knowledge and experience in the installation, fit up and welding of large diameter pipe.

Mike Dean's welding career started in 1969 in a small welding and fabrication shop. During  employment, the shop contracted with local farmers doing field work consisting of fabricating, fitting & welding on 2 inch to 12 inch pipe. After working for the small shop approximately five years, Mike purchased his own equipment and continued working for the local farmers supplying quality, reliable field pipe welding. In 1973 Mike started Dean’s Certified Welding. In the beginning we continued field work welding for the local farmers and also opened a welding shop in Carlsbad California. We steadily grew over the years, welding pipeline for various contractors, mostly on water pipeline. In the early 1990’s we became a licensed general contractor in California as Dean’s Engineering, DBA Dean’s Certified Welding, Inc. We do some general contracting, including the installation of pipeline. However, we really specialize in pipeline welding. We have also branched out, utilizing our weld process expertise and include inspection and testing of welds as part of our reliable, quality services.

Dean’s Certified Welding, Inc. takes great pride in our company, all of the people who work for and with us and especially the quality of work we provide. The majority of our welders have been with us for many years. The majority of our welders have been with us for over twenty years. Dean’s has utilized as many as sixty-five welders working for us at one time, covering our many projects. Every one of our welders hold current certifications for specific weld processes and each are highly qualified. Our welders are all field tried and tested. They all have had to prove themselves to be reliable and proficient. Our welders continue gaining knowledge and experience from each different project they work on, especially from the veteran welders they are deliberately placed as a leadership role in each project. Each one of our welders take great pride in their individual work, however, they all understand that they are expected to work together as a team. We all look out for one another, help one another and have built a solid reputable name for Dean’s Certified Welding because of the camaraderie and commitment of everyone combined, from our office staff to the welders.
